Having recently returned from our Fall World 2011 conference, I have been processing what took place and how to improve our future confer- ences. I always enjoy feedback from
our attendees and exploring new options to
improve the conference experience for everyone. While all our shows are consistently
ranked outstanding by our attendees, there is
always room for improvement.
I want to devote this column to discussing some very exciting changes DRJ will be
making at Spring World 2012. This conference
is set for March 25-28, 2012 in Orlando, Fla.
DRJ Announces Partnerships to
Improve Spring World 2012
In an industry that is constantly evolving
and taking on new tasks and responsibilities,
it is vital to remain ahead of the needs of our
industry practitioners. There are so many
areas that require diligent research and constant updating to make sure the choices being
made are the right ones for the organization.
For example, in the past decade dozens of
new organizational standards have emerged. A
few include ISO, ANSI, and PS-Prep. Each of
these standards has its own unique benefit, but
which is right for your organization? Is there
more than one standard you should consider?
Practitioners also have a difficult task
choosing an individual professional certification. There are several being offered globally.
Which is the most beneficial to you? Which
will serve you best in the future as your career
evolves? Which organization has goals that
align with your current needs?
DRJ CEO and founder, Richard L.
Arnold, weighed in on the subject of mul-
tiple certifications at Fall World 2011 in San
Diego by announcing, “I am proud to say I
have received my MBCI certification from
Business Continuity Institute.”
DRJ’s plan for Spring World 2012 is to
provide a place for practitioners to explore
these options and discover the programs
that best fit each individual’s needs. We are
partnering with some of the industry’s best
organizations, ICOR and BCI, to bring you
a conference like no other. This collaborative
effort will give our attendees an unbiased set-
ting to understand what each can offer.
Senior Track Takes
Spring World to New Level
Another exciting change at Spring World
2012 will be the addition of a one-day senior
level track designed for experienced practitioners. It will be held Monday, March 26. This
track, “Elevating BC/DR to Enterprise Risk
Management,” is an exceptional opportunity
for networking with C-level executives and
other senior level practitioners.
It will feature a general session in the morning and breakout sessions in the afternoon,
each led by high-level executives in the business continuity industry. The day will conclude
with a “Meet the Expert” event in the evening.
Attendees who qualify for this track
can attend regular conference activities on
Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday. There is
no additional cost for attending the Monday
executive level track but the event is by invitation only. If you are interesting in receiving
an invitation, e-mail senior-track@drj.com.
I look forward to the changes we are
making for Spring World 2012. Yet, rest
assured we will still feature our favorite
events for attendees. We will continue to have
our stellar lineup of sessions in all tracks, networking events, outstanding meals, the informative exhibition hall and everything else our
attendees have become to expect.
Spring World 2012 has always been the
best conference in the industry. Now, with the
help of our new partnerships and our senior
level track, it will be better than ever. Visit
www.drj.com/springworld for all the details. I
look forward to seeing you in Orlando!
