Planner
The Senior Disaster Recovery Planner provides
leadership and expertise in the development,
maintenance and testing and implementation of
domestic and international Information Technology
(I/ T) Disaster Recovery Programs and processes
across the enterprise.
Responsible for coordinating the development and
implementation of advance arrangements, plans and
procedures to ensure the IT services supporting critical
business functions can resume within a predefined
time frame in event of a disaster with the minimal lost
of data. This responsibility includes coordinating the
design, development, maintenance, and exercising
(testing) of the overall disaster recovery plans for
each critically designated application in the specified
regional location.
The Senior DR Planner must lead and conduct the
necessary research to ensure the appropriate recovery
solution is developed to meet the requirements of
business, any regulatory obligations or to protect the
image of the corporation.
The recommend solution must be cost effective and
technically supportable in a steady state environment.
May be required to work closely with and/or lead
other staff organizations such as System and Network
Engineering, Application Development Programmers,
Business Continuity Planners and Line of Business
Coordinators. Also, may be required to develop,
managed and maintain a positive external vendor
relationship regarding provision of recovery services.
The Senior DR Planner is also responsible for
performing project management activities including
but not limited to: development of project scope and
objectives, delivery scheduled, secure approval and
funding, and implementation and transition to steady
state. The Senior Disaster Recovery Planner will also
be responsible for providing leadership and guidance
in any actual disaster recovery effort.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
experience
• Five or more years experience delivering projects using a
standard Project Life Cycle Methodology.
• Six to Eight years of general-related Disaster Recovery
work experience
• Advanced knowledge working with Microsoft Office
applications to create Power Point presentations, Visio
diagrams, Access tables and Excel spreadsheets, MS
Project and utilizing Adobe Acrobat
• Advanced technical knowledge in various technology
disciplines
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of current
disaster recovery planning techniques and technologies
as well as the methods used in performing risk analyses
and business impact analyses.
• Strong human relations skills to interface with managers
and staff at all levels within the organization. Also to
deal with outside vendor providers of disaster recovery
services.

services:
1. Provide analysis on DR plans to ensure quality and

2. Perform analysis on adherence to standards and
procedures, making recommendations for process
improvements
3. Compile planning and testing results and other
documentation for reporting and metrics
4. Schedule and facilitate meetings with all necessary
departments to coordinate DR program efforts, building
relationships in the process
5. Work with planning and testing teams to update recovery
and test plans
6. Contribute to the development, implementation, and
ongoing management of the disaster recovery program’s
policy, standards, and operating procedures
What we are looking for:
1. Minimum of 3 years IT DR planning and/or testing
experience, experience in med-large IT organization
preferred
2. Ability to communicate effectively - technical and/or
professional writing skills, presentation skills, verbal,
written
3. Working knowledge of SunGard’s Living Disaster
Recovery Planning System (LDRPS) Version 10
4. Ability to analyze business and technical process
flows and contribute ideas and recommendations for
improvement
5. Project management experience desired
6. CBCP certification or 3 years related experience

8. Ability to work independently, prioritize competing
demands, and deliver quality work within set timelines

Disaster Recovery Manager
Demonstrated ability to influence individuals,
lead teams, and work effectively with all levels of
management.
Strong project management skills (PMP certification
or 5-7 years of work experience), with the ability to
manage a project including resources, milestones, and

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
professional to join our team in driving Business
Continuity Management (BCM) and Disaster Recovery
(DR) for Microsoft world-wide.
This position supports the on-going development and
management of the Corporate BCM Program using
methods which are consistent with Microsoft’s internal
policies, DRII, BCI, ISO 17799, NFPA 1600 and other
recognized industry andprofessional practices. The
goal of this program is to ensure a state of readiness
that enables an appropriate response to any disaster
that would compromise Microsoft’s worldwide critical
business processes.
The ideal candidate will have a successful track
record in developing the Disaster Recovery strategy
and implementing the Disaster Recovery program
in a large enterprise. The candidate should have a
strong understanding of the challenges in developing
a DR strategy and policy at the corporate level.
Should also have strong experience in developing
and integrating testing strategies. Should have a
good grasp of recovery technologies and solutions,
replication technology, and appropriate solutions
for varying application and service architecture. A
practical understanding and expert working knowledge
of Business Continuity principles, practices; and their
methods of implementation. Core Project Management
skills are required as you will be responsible for
implementation (project scope definition and planning
through delivery) of complex mission critical programs.
Qualifications include a minimum of 10 years
experience with a combination of the following:
Large scale Disaster Recovery Program in a large
enterprise. Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Crisis
Management, Risk Management in large organizations
Project management of multiple large and complex I T or
business process projects
BS/BA in Computer Science; Information Systems,
